A day in passage

The rhythm is deliberate. Mornings belong to the towns — that is when they are awake and the light is worth walking in. Afternoons and evenings belong to the needles, when the ship is moving and there is nowhere else you are meant to be.

  1. Coffee on deckThe river at its quietest. Most mornings four or five people are already knitting.
  2. Ashore, into the townA guided walk through the old quarter, and time left over for the yarn shop.
  3. Lunch as we cast offThe banks start to move past the window while the plates are still on the table.
  4. Knit & learn with MargitOne technique a day — cables on Tuesday, colourwork on Wednesday, steeks if you dare.
  5. Dinner, then the circleChairs pulled round in the lounge. Nobody has to explain what they are making.
  6. Night sailingWe travel while you sleep, and you wake up moored in the next country.

Ports of call · Budapest → Vienna → PassauTimes are the ship's usual running order and shift an hour either way with the berth.
